Christian Ginzel holds a PhD in physics and is a qualified German and European Patent Attorney. At Zimmermann & Partner, Christian specializes in the fields of optics, semiconductor technology, micro-electromechanical systems and telecommunication. His practice area is primarily patent litigation and the corresponding invalidation actions, where he advises and represents leading companies in numerous, high profile, international disputes.
Christian studied physics at the Technical University in Darmstadt and at the Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich. During his university years, he received a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation. After graduating, Christian worked as a scientist at the Max-Planck-Institute of Quantum Optics in the fields of laser physics, quantum electronics and quantum electrodynamics. During this period he was part of a collaboration with the MIT in Boston, which involved a research project in Quantum Electronics. After becoming a German Patent Attorney, Christian joined the patent department of Siemens AG where he worked in the field of semiconductor technology, especially memory products and CMOS processes.
